Love songs in Romance languages from the Middle Ages to the present
Diana Rasina’s project offers in an authentically expressive way a remarkable overview of the musical folklore of Romania. The young singer wanders through all the regions of her homeland and revives lively dance and wedding tunes, sighing laments and old pastoral ballads, Romani songs and oriental melodies, as well as “classics” of Romanian folklore.
Diana Rasina found the congenial musical partners for her unique musical project in three outstanding and renowned musicians: Dimitar Karamitev from Bulgaria on kaval (shepherd's flute) – also famous for his collaboration with Martin Lubenov, Otto Lechner or the Wladigeroff Brothers – , Laszlo Racz from Hungary on cimbalom – who gained an international reputation with the “Gypsy Violin Orchestra” - and Jovan Torbica from Serbia on double bass, who plays among others at Wiener Tschuschenkapelle, DelaDap or Fanfare Ciocarlia.
Diana Rasina wanders over impressive musical solos through the regions of her native Romania. In her “a capella” program, the singer revives the unaltered chant of her ancestors and breathes new life into archaic Romanian singing techniques.
